Hello everyone,
I been with Discover for more than 3 years but among my credit cards, this one has the lowest limit of $750 . I been sending them SM to see if I can increase that but it seems like I always get the same answer of unable to increase it. I'm 100% on time payment, and I do carry a balance and I would sometimes pay it in full.
What should I do?
Thank You

Can you qive us a bit more info on your credit file? Was the 750 the original limit they gave you? I'm starting to think with Discover if they started you off with a low limit it seems that it would be hard to get a CLI.
Originally when I opened my Discover, it has a credit limit of $500 and an APR of 22.99% and a year after, it was increase automatically to $750 and a year after that I ask for a lower APR which is currently at 15.24%. I been trying to get a higher limit but they just wouldn't budge. My income increase since I started working a full time hours. This is also my second credit card. My first one was a secured card which I close after 9 months and now I had this discover card for over three years.
So I'm not quite sure what to do here.
Thank you

Put spend on the card and wait patiently.

If this is your only card you need to beef up your Fico scores, you actually need 3 bankcards and 1 store card to help maximize your score. You have a thin file and they are most likely gunshy to go higher until they see more credit history and a thicker file. Are you trying to get the SP CLI or have you taken HPs in trying??
Go online and clic the 'credit line increase' option. They changed that page and some people are getting instant approvals.
Was your discover a student card? If it was the graduation date is already in the past?

I think is not longer needed to have a store card for score. Anyway I got one just in case.
I've noticed that Discover does not usually give out high limits, although there are exceptions. I also started out with the student card with a $500 limit, and I've been given automatic CLIs every few months for $150. I do use this card frequently, though, and I think that it helps if you use it a lot and pay on time. I always pay in full, but I don't know if that makes an impact with them. Discover likes it when people use their cards, so don't keep it in the sock drawer because the limit is low.
Discover is not going to give you a CLI without decent usage. That's just how they work -- you have to use it heavily, really as your main card, and you will almost certainly get a SP CLI after a few months (their policy is every 90 days, a fact I just clarified with them tonight in fact).
Discover was my first unsecured card. I used it exclusively for many months and paid it off. I have more cards now, so it's not my main card, but they are still pretty good with consistent CLI and APR reductions. You just have to use the card a lot, even if it means giving up rewards on another card temporarily. In many cases, this is a small difference anyway (the difference between 1.5% and 1% on a $30 purchase is literally 15 cents). Throw them a bone and use it sometimes even for 1% if you want a CLI.
