I've seen posts say that its best to wait until day 31 to request a CLI on a brand new Discover card and others say day 91 is best. What have you found to work the best?

You will not get an increase at 31 days, I have not seen anyone here yet. At least 90 days before you qualify unless they give it to you voluntarily. And even at the 90 day mark if they feel like you don't deserve one they will deny it too.

You will not get an increase at 31 days, I have not seen anyone here yet. At least 90 days before you qualify unless they give it to you voluntarily. And even at the 90 day mark if they feel like you don't deserve one they will deny it too.

Of course I wouldn't expect them to hand over a CLI all willy-nilly! As I'm rebuilding and learning the in's and out's of credit, I want to start taking actions more purposefully and with more thought than I have in the past.

They do like to see you make use of the card though. Big payments or PIF seems to work in your favor when asking for a CLI. What CL did they start you off with?

Right?? I think I'll grab one for my 3 yr old son and dog too while they're handing them out! lol
I only started at $1200 which isn't where I want to be but it's my highest ever SL. Onwards and upwards now!!

Wait the 90 days and you probably will get an increase providing you use the card a lot and pay often.

I got my first Discover CLI on Day 86.
