Can you say "ope"
Yikes! 😬
I was going to ask on my 1 year anniversary. Rethinking it now
dont fear the cli button. You have bigger issues if you get asked for a 4506 imo.
Been there .. done that .. got the "T" shirt
That was my denial reason for at least a good year, year and a half. Then I finally got a $300 cli (wow). It's my oldest card and I like having a lender from each network, so I keep it, but now it's only used for the rotating 5% for me.
i haven't received a cli yet since openening the account back in december 2019.
figured last week was time to request since it's been about 8 months and i had already maxxed out this quarter's 5% cashback within a week.
guess i need more heavy use on the card.
@mrcraft wrote:Did you receive a CLI previously? For me, it seems to have moved from 3 month to 6 month intervals for CLI. I get the same message you did, but at some point it changes to "Low useage...." That's when I know I need to put some spend on my card for a CLI and usually get a month or two later. Discover is weird.
I was just denied as well. I opened the card last August, and got a CLI in February on my first CLI attempt. I was going to try again in 3 months (May), but decided to wait until 6 months (August) to try again after Covid began. When I did try last month, I couldn't even put in the request; it just would say a "CLI is not available at this time" after clicking the button.
So I figured they are making me wait a year from opening the card to get a CLI, so I tried this week on September 1st. That appeared to work, and clicking the button finally let me put my information in. After submitting it, I was denied, though. I'm still waiting for the letter but I'm sure it will say insufficient experience or not enough use. I'll try again next month!
No kidding! 😂😂 IDK what it is about my profile they don’t like. Admittedly, my overall Profile is much better now than it was when I got the It card, but it was never bad. I’ve even entertained the thought of getting another one later on to see what the SL would be! 😂

@M_Smart007 wrote:" INSUFFICIENT EXPERIENCE WITH CURRENT DISCOVER CARD CREDIT LIMIT"
As another poster mentioned, not enough use of the card.
Honestly, this doesnt equate to that. Ones usage has nothing to do with this reason as we have seen through all the various datapoints. Imho, this message should be read as Not at this time.....basically their version of the english word NO, or Russian NYET

lol, if anyone questions the usage issue, just tell them how much you spent in a year Mind blowing and no cli
I called the backdoor number one time and talked to a specialist, and even he said “I have no idea why the system won’t approve it. Everything looks great!” I told him that I spent enough in the first year to earn over $1350 in cashback (with cashback match). He said “It’s shocking, but I cannot override it.”
