Big limit for discover... Big income as well I would have to assume?   Reason I partially don't apply for discover is I don't want a 1500 CL type of thing...  Discover is just very weird.. If I could find some pattern I would consider it, but I can't.. Granted if you have a 800 Fico and good income chances are you will get a great approval.. in the 700 range, not so much anything is guranteed

Big income...I wish...maybe one day...LOL.  Income is low low 60s.  When I got my card yesterday, they had my TU at 703 which matched my myFICO TU.  THis is why I was so shocked when the rep told me the limit and the APR...but I certainly won't knock it as I am completely pleased.  I can definitely use the BT option to transfer some balance from the Venture (meeting bonus spend) since there is no promo APR period.

Edited to add - the part i highlighted is what made me nervous.  I knew if I took the bait, I would want to make the BT option worth it.  1500 CL wouldn't have done anything and by the time I could have gotten a CLI, the BT promo period would be close to over.  I think another thing that pushed me more to apply was that Citi finally started pre-qualifying me.  I figured if I somehow hit their strict pre-qual radar, I must have something right in my reports.

Re: Discover IT Pre-approval by mail

Discover seems to prefer people new to credit with small existing limits, rather than those with thick profiles and higher existing limits.
