Hi all!
I have a weird situation maybe someone can help me with - I applied for a Discover IT secured card on 3/5, passed the credit check and received the message on their website that they would take my security deposit in 2-3 days after their test deposits cleared. Four days later, they did the test deposits, and their website said everything was good to go and once my deposit cleared, I'd get my card. Yay, right? On 3/12, I received an email from Disco that they have sent my deposit info to my bank and once that clears, I should get my card in two weeks. I was totally over the moon! So, I was waiting, waiting, waiting... no deposit is taken from my account. A week goes by, no deposit taken, no further emails... nothing. Their website is buggy and won't show my app status, so I give them a call. The lady (very nice) tells me that I've been denied and they'll send me a letter explaining why. I told her I had received the email about the deposit and she said everything will be explained in the letter. So, what gives? Has this happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on what to do? I am super bummed here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I've seen this happen on regular cards before. You'll have to wait for the letter and see what spooked them.
Perhaps try recon, they might be able to tell you what happened and maybe you could plead your case to get them to reverse it. Did you go on an app spree following the approval? I've seen some people get decisions reversed for that reason a few times now
Thanks for the info! I received the letter in the mail and it said I had "incorrect banking information". They listed my banking information perfectly so I'm not sure what went wrong. I plan to recon and hopefully I can get the decision reversed. Thank you!!
