How long ago was your BK discharged? If you're trying to circumvent the notion that a "student version" would bypass such UW criteria it may not be the case. As with anything, YEMV.

It was discharged 7.5 years ago. I recently applied for the regular Discover it was turned down due to BK. I use to have the student version in the past which I closed.
It's going to be a toss up with them to be honest. Was the student version that you had prior to BK or post-BK? Also, are you currently enrolled in school?

It was post BK. Yes I am currently attending an University and I am a Junior.
So, it may just be possible (depending on how much things have improved/changed since you last had this version) that you may have a shot with it again. As far as "upgrade", it's virtually non-existent since this won't hinder your chances for CLI/growth any different than the non-student IT version (plenty of threads on this if you search). It's simply coded as such from an origination standpoint since you would likely be providing documentation that supports your school enrollment with some "slight" flexibility in the UW criteria.
