Hello,
I need to get a credit to help raise my credit scores. My Fico scores are in the high 500 range and Creditkarma- transunion says 666. Not sure if I should apply now to establish a tradline. A few months ago I was denied a BoA secured card so not sure where to turn. I have no open cars just a mortgage and a car loan with WF. My utilzation is below 14%. I am working on the late payments on my ortage due to a divorce but my car payment is allways on time. Any suggersstions would be appreciated.

Ditto on the Capital One!!! They're a GREAT card for rebuilding, and are pretty liberal with their CLIs... at least they have been to me
Shoot for the rebuild card... platinum, I think (can't remember and don't have my wallet next to me) Once you've had that for a few months (I waited 6) I apped with Discover. And while I use my Discover card, a lot, and pay it off, or down to very low utilization, they are completely unwilling to give me a CLI!!! Grrr.... So it's a card to have in my wallet, but have moved on to bigger and better things now.
They will give you credit I bet you.. I have an unpaid business Cap1 that I am actively disputing and they still give me CLI's on my other cards and I basically told them I will not pay it unless they do a PFD and they aren't budging nor am I as it is about to hit the SOL's... So if I can get get CLI's with other CAP1 cards, they are VERY forgiving with a charged off account that is actively being disputed between my lawyer/me and C1 .
first of all. where are you getting those scores from. if you are in the 500s it will be tough. its ok to try but i will say don't even waste the hard pulls at this point. just get a secured card. i know you said you were denied from secured card from bank of america. however most credit unions will open a secured card without a hard pull. to save it for when your scores go up. hat would be best thing. but like i said. it wont hurt to try for cap 1. . and put in information. as it will be soft pull. if it says congrats go for it right away. good luck. link below.https://findmycard.capitalone.com/PageVersions/LandingPages/LP_UNS_QUICK_RWD_V01.aspx?external_id=WW...

+1
OP, I know it's not what you want to hear but...It's hard enough getting approvals from prime lenders when your scores are in the mid-high 600's let alone anything beginning with 5.
