Discover apping question.

Happy weekend everyone

Main question is how tough is Discover on new accounts. Currently Im showing 4 new accounts in the last 7 months.

What makes this question interesting is that I have another MC that hasnt reported yet (opened 12/16) but when it does, it will my highest CL.

Do I wait for it to report, then app? ( The second statement just cut today so I know I only have a few days til it hits the CRs)

Thx for looking

Side question.  Where is the Kudos button?  Mine disappeaared

>3/2016 EX 644 CK-TU 642 CK-EQ 660 WalMart- 671.
>7/2025 All 3 reports 830 - 845(F8) F9s = all 850 but my app finger is still twitching

Re: Discover apping question.

I don't think there's any right or wrong answer here.  I don't think it's a huge deal if you app now or app after the other account reports.  While it's quite a few new accounts, I don't think it will yield you a denial as your FICO 08's are all 710-720 or so.  Even if you get a less than stellar SL, Discover can grow very fast and usually between 60-90 days you'll have an opportunity to get at least one if not two CLIs.

The Kudos button is to the left of the reply button.  It's there, just a slightly different graphic.  That's what I see, anyway.

Re: Discover apping question.

Unless you're extraordinary in some way I wouldn't worry about the highest CL reporting since Disco is known to come in lower than your other lines 90% of the time.  There's something in the air though right now where some people have been hitting 6-9K for an opening limit.  I haven't really seen Disco denying for too many accounts but, anything is possible as Disco is not the norm by any means.

If you want it, then apply for it, if you want to wait to roll the dice then that's up to you as well.  I don't think it's going to make a difference in either direction though when it comes to an approval.

Re: Discover apping question.

Austin is right. I have read multiple approvals for Disco with low scores... like 625 and 631. (Same with Amex)
Wondering what's different but hey... that's cool if they are losing their requirements.

I don't think it matters to your original question. I would app now before the 5th new one shows since the bigger issue is the new accounts rather than the issue of not having your high limit card report since Disco doesn't care about that.

gL & keep us posted
