I put in my info, silver card, wide spread APR. I put in my dogs name and random SS and she gets a red card and low APR!
Just kidding, she already has an IT card.
I just tried my dads SS# and he got the Silver. His Credit Karma ( fakeo) is 679 and he has 1 open unpaid collection on TU and EQ, lates on a old mortgage from 2012, and 1 credit card at 96% maxed. Mortgage was transfered and been perfect payments.

When this happened for me I thought I'd have some fun with them. I put my dogs name and 0000 for the SSN. He was pre-approved. To be fair he has never paid a bill late, and is very good with saving things....especially tennis balls.
When you seriously put in your information what does it show for the point spread and what color card does it show? is it a WIDE point range or a 3point range?
You dog approved with a wide point range isnt an approval.
Discover isn't that hard to get.. No ones knows what they are really looking for is what makes them a mystery. They will approve people pretty soon after BK. They will also approve people with baddies, then in turn turn down people with clean profiles as well. I agree the pre-qual with a three point gap is better than the 10-23 range or whatever it is, but it is still marketing and nothing is guaranteed until that hard pull is done as if anything in your profile has changed or they see something else they dislike then one will denied. If you get mailers with set apr ranges of 2-3 point ranges then that is good, but certainly not a guarantee that you are going to get approved. The pre-qual site stinks for them plain and simple and quite honestly Discover should just remove it as it misleads people to think they are "pre-qualiifed" when alot of them don't have a shot at all, but it recommends people with 520' scores for example to apply. Maybe it is the wording of "YOUR OFFER" that misleads people vs. something like we can't find any pre-qualiifications for you, but you might like this card like other sites do.
Typically with such a wide point spread as 11-23 it's not quite a pre-qual. Sure you can get approved but the more solid/safe offers suggest a smaller spread of 3-4 percent
When I do the pre qual site I get the purple card and exact 3 point spread and this is the identical purple mailer I got in todays mail. Notice the 3 point spread. I never got a colored mailer until recently and never got anything but the Silver card until recently.

Seems like Discover is waiting to become a part of your wallet
