Hey Im going to apply for the Discover it secured here soon. I was just wondering what some people who have applied scores were when they were either approved or not approved. Is it pretty much a given that theyll approve you? And will your credit profile have to match that of someone who can be approved for a regular discover it before they upgrade and return your funds? Thanks

There has been some declines, and no your profile doesn't have to be like someone who can get the unsecured version otherwise there wouldn't be a secured version. How does your profile look like?

I was wondering if when they upgrade it to an unsecured card if your profile would have to match that of someone who has an already unsecured card.
My scores are EQ611 TU606 EX652
I have 4 open accounts in good standing no missed payments,
1-30 1-60 1-90 day late on my car loan that is 3 months away from being PIF,
2 collections accounts that are PIF and over two years old
I had NO credit and just like you 2 paid collections and was offered the secured card (could not apply directly at that time).

The secured becoming unsecured will all come down to your credit profile at the time of review. There is no one credit profile that fits all you know. If you want it go for it and reading from your other theead, if Wells Fargo unsecured your card then Discover will do the same as long as you are in good standings.

Well update: I was APPROVED with a TU FICO of 606 and am finally in the door with discover! I'm so excited!
Good job!! Enjoy it.
Okay this is a secured card meaning you're putting your own money down on it? How then will that become an unsecured version? And why are they pulling scores for a secured card?
