Hey all,
So one of the CSRs at Discover told me that you need to go 3 billing cycles before being able to request a CLI; this has been corroborated many times by posts on this forum. However, my 3rd cycle closed yesterday and they still did not grant me a CLI when I tried today, for the reason of not having sufficient experience. Could it be because 3 billing cycles technically wasn't 90 days from when I opened the card?? Thanks!
Yes...
Wait a few more days and try again...
It seems to be Discover's new go to denial reason. Fix one thing and break another....
I'm just so sick of having the smallest SL ever ($500) and not going up. I have absollutely no idea why I only got that and just want it to go up already
I waited until about 2 weeks after I was notified that my (3rd) statement had cut, which was about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Fortunately, I got a $3k increase from my starting limit of $4k. Hope you get a good increase!!
I spoke with a CSR and asked them when my 90 days was up and I tried for the CLI on the 91st day, received a pretty good bump. Try again when you are past 90!
I'm at Day 104 right now, but only 2 statements have cut :/ I checked out the CLI luv button and would have received a $500 CLI (they gave me the option of accepting or declining, so I declined)
My 3rd statement should cut tomorrow, so I'll probably try again either tomorrow or Friday and see if the CLI is higher. I'll let you know OP

Wait how does the math make sense on that? Your first statement cuts at most 31 days after your approval date, and then add another 30/31 days for the next one. How can you be at Day 104 with only 2? Or, as you say, have your 3rd one cut at Day 105?
I know right? LOL
I think what happened is that I opened the account, but then went on vacation for 2 weeks before the card had arrived. I then activated when I got back and I believe my statements started from that point.
Now I'm questioning my actual number of days. The 90 days goes by the date you were approved for the card, correct? Or does it start from activation?
Edit: Just remembered that on my Equifax CR, it states my account was opened at the lasat week of Dec 2016. So I started counting from that date, but I didn't actually activate my card until the 1st week of January
