Is this just standard for Discover now? I posted about this last month when I asked for a CLI (which they did end up approving) and just got this message again when I hit the luv button.
Is this SOP now? Has anyone gotten anything else recently? Do immediate increases still happen at all?

The 2 day message is IMO is given to folks who are worth a second look for an exception to Discos standard 90 day CLI.
Seems like the 2 day message is only given (well at least for me) when you ask for an increase sooner than 90 days after your last one.
My wife and I both have discover cards opened around the same time last year. Her starting limit was 2000 and mine was 5000. At first, we would only ask for CLI at the 91 day mark and received one every time. They all varied from 500-2000.
Soon after the 6 month mark we started asking for CLI's every 30 or 60 days. DW would never recieve the 2 day message..but I would on occassions. My first 2 day resulted in a substantial bump. The couple afterwards yielded nothing till I hit my 90 day mark witch turned into an INSTANT increase instead of the 2 day message.
I tested my theory again a month later and received the 2 day messages until I hit the 90 day mark. DW still is always an instant decline until she reaches her 90 day mark.
So for me....Always instant decision at 90-91 day mark for me and a 2 day message when requesting earlier.
For DW...always instant approval at 90-91 day mark, but always instant denied for (insufficent experience at current credit line) anytime before 90-91 day mark;
(NEVER recieved 2 day message)
My limit is now 17k and hers is 9k.
2 day messages usually yield better results and higher increasesup to 6k for me.
Not sure what they like about me, we both used our cards about the same and we both have VERY similar CR's and scores.

Same as the guy above me, always 2 day message if I ask before 90 days. Usually instant if past 90.
I got an instant CLI on May 2nd for 6k from 21k to 27k. I pressed the luv button again on June 2nd and got the 2 day message, it took around 8 business days for them to process it but got another 4k for a total CL of 31k.
You can check the status by clicking on the Request a CLI link, unless it’s reset then they’re still processing it.

Thanks, Bone, for your well-considered theory on this. It makes perfect sense - appreciate the info!
Although I do keep records of when I ask for CLI's, I don't really think too far into it other than that so I hadn't made that 90-day connection - and I bet you're exactly right about that. Having 2 accounts to compare results certainly seems to validate your point. ![]()

No it's not standard.
I've been getting an outright refusal that they can't give me an increase "at this time".

UPDATE: Logged back in a few hours later and CL has been increased by $4,000...that's the largest one they've ever given me...
