I just completed a prequalified for discover. I am looking to do a balance transfer and have always wanted in with discover. After I was done it said "here is the offer we found for you" it was the discover it for 0% for 12 months on balance transfer and 11%-23%.Should I trust this prequalified? My scores updated today .trans-616, equifax 600 and experian 628.
Thanks. I think I will just wait. I paid off one of my highest balances and got some nice increases coming so just waiting for my scores to slowly update. just looking for a quality balance transfer card I can get now to start chipping away at this cap one balance I have.
discover can be strange. they don't send true prequals to many people. i had to try twice to get in with them and they have me on the slow track lol. i get a feeling that if you barely qualify to their standards they put little restrictions on your card for CLIs and APR reductions
Thanks for the advice. I have heard of some people getting in with Amex close to my scores but they also had the "we recommend" why can't they just say nothing or at least hell no. Seeing as a year ago my scores were 500 ish I think I am on my way
dude this time last year i was mid 500s... within 10 points of 700 on all bureaus now with 3 amex's, discover, 4 cap1s, barclay, 2 NFCU... and much more. just wait it out. you'll get there
