Shoegal, i forgot, is that your 1st Discover? Whats the original limit? Any cli since opening? My one and only Discover. No CLI since approval in July 2017. My limit was $2k. TU score 691 at approval.
I did one balance transfer in October for $1,400. Pay more than the minimum every month, and they decided in January to CLD to $1,700. I paid it off that day.
Since then I used the card every month but PIF. Every time I ask for CLI I get the same denials. Either “insufficient experience with credit bureau,” “insufficient experience with credit line,”and my favorite “delinquency.” Yep, I’ve 6 paid charge-offs that are 6 1/2 years old that were there at approval. No matter how much I used it and PIF or how much my credit file has improved they don’t care.
I have debated closing it. I also never prequalified for a new one. I always get a denial with the 3 reasons above.
oh wow, it must the amount of charges off's is all i can figure. Once those are cleared you should be good to go. I have 1 paid CO, and its only 3 years old so who knows with creditors. once you are clean, you could end up with a 10k disco card
That would be awesome! I have to be patient until then.

That is the hardest part... with your scores now, and then the CO's gone.. you would be swimming in the regal waters of 750+ ![]()

My TU score jumped from 670 to 765... (bk dropped off) and I asked for a CLI before the score jumped.. and I was offered 500... and declined...
how soon could I ask for a cli again?
At the time I asked for a cli they used the TU on file, it was updated a week later.
SL a year ago 9k
CLI 6 months ago to 13,500
Disco is interesting in that space.. some can get one every 30 some 60 and some 90.. YMMV, but you can literaly ask every week if you were so inclined ![]()

Honestly, that’s what keeps me gardening. Waiting for COs to drop so that scores get higher and clean reports.

Oh yeah, that would get me down. Most times people who carry a BT can often times get better or bigger increases. I think when the time is right, you'll get a big sl on a new card.

Thanks, AJC! You and Jago are right. Time and patience are my friends.
The DH tested doing a balance transfer (almost maxing out his credit line) and got a $3k increase, then a $2k increase 2 months later. I hate him. 🤣😂

I didn't even think of that.. i did a few small BT's when i opened the card, since it was 0% and the other weren't. That would help explain the doubling of my limit on the CLI i just got. Maybe in 90 more days i'll get another one? Just have to see. My score isnt that shiny yet ![]()
