Hey guys, I'm planning on applying for a Chase Freedom card and wanted to know if being an authorized user on another persons card will help my chances to get the card? And this doesn't have to be for the Freedom only, I wanted to know in general. Thanks

Yes and no.. It can help with age of oldest account & such but most prime lenders want to see some history of your own before approving you for a card.
Do you have any cc's of your own? Because as only an AU, you might want to have some history with another card that's yours before apping with Chase.

Yeah, I have an AEO Store card for a little over half a year and I have a secured cc from a bank over here in Puerto Rico.

I would recommend you try the prequal sites for both Discover and AMEX, perhaps Merrick Bank as well.
They are all friendly to thin files.
That way you can see if you qualify for any cards without taking a HP on your CR.
Good Luck!!
Authorized user accounts aren't going to help you with Chase. They may help you with other banks, however.
