I have 2 Sync cards and when I got them (HSN and CareCredit) I received 1 Hp for each so I was under the impression that Sync like most cards always did 1 hp.
My cousin who I helped get his credit up and running applied for a Belk card a couple of days ago and got a 1800 approval.
I was wondering what CRA pulled his credit so I checked his Credit Karma and Trans showed the HP for Sync/Belk which I let him know.
Then a few minutes ago I was checking his Experian and it showed a Hp for Sync/Belk also.
I was surprised at the Double pull so I checked the forum and came across a few posts stating how Sync has done Single pulls (as expected) but also has done Double pulls on some occasions AND also some people have experienced a Triple pull from Sync.
Definitely have to add this to my data points concerning credit apps with Sync in the future.
This is normal with so many creditors. Just like some get a SP to join a CU and some get HP'ed. Could be a current customer gets 1 HP. New customers double pulled. Regions around the US can apply for the same card and only certain CRA's are pulled. Creditors may pull EQ for me in Fl. Whereas CA could get TU for the same card. Nothing is set in stone with credit. Sync will be Sync.
Wow, I never heard of that but... thats the ever-changing credit game... ESPECIALLY the Synchrony chapter which, apparently has many more edits and revisions left. 😉
Sync is doing alot more double pull these days than in earlier days and just like any issuer expect two HP's or even three from some plus the smaller bureaus as well. The more information some lenders can get from you the more they will to mitigate risk (likely reason) as likely they pulled sagestream among other ones as well.
I know my last card got several years ago the verizon when launched it was certainly a double pull despite high scores.
I guess the positive is thogh SP CLI's in future if requested though.
