Estimating SL for Paypal using other Synchrony pre-qualifiers

I'm wondering about the Paypal mastercard, which as far as I'm aware doesn't give you a soft pull offer. Has anyone gotten the Paypal card after comparing soft pull offers from other Synchrony cards like Walgreens, Lowes, etc, to give some clue how they compare or have any other guesses on how they'd compare, or how they compare to other bank soft limit offers like Apple or GM pre-qualifiers  ? I don't know if there are different underwriting standards for different  co-branded cards. I'd expect store card offers to differ from general cards, as far as I'm aware, Walgreens is the only mastercard or visa pre-qual from Synchrony that gives an offer, or are there others?  Oops, actually I should say that I'd read Venmo does: but that you need an account with them for 30 days before applying for it.  Thanks.

@RealityDesigner42 i dont know for 100% fact but i believe since the paypal mc is a card that can be used everywhere , the underwriter might be a little stricter but i would say your prequalifications for store cards should be a good indicator as to if youd be approved for the paypal mc - i was preapproved for all synchrony store cards before applying for the paypal card and it was an instant approval

Re: Estimating SL for Paypal using other Synchrony pre-qualifiers

Thanks, I'm sure I'd be approved, the issue is getting an idea of the starting limit there vs. other potential options  (though those usually don't show starting limits either, I just knew there were some Synchrony cards that do). I didn't know how much the underwriting varied between co-branded cards with Synchrony. I don't know if they factor in paypal usage though also, since I've used it quite a bit.

All we can do here is speculate, but I can share that back in "the good ole days" before Synchrony was so squirrelly people would sometimes app for multiple Synch cards close together, and the approval amounts would often be all over the place.  Of course this could be due to timing, additional HPs, etc. but back then many people felt fairly certain that each card product has underwriting tailored to the specific merchant.  People are more careful these days due to account shutdowns so there aren't as many data points floating around, but I've not seen anything that indicates this has changed.

Put another way, if you try the Venmo or Walgreens preapproval the amount might or might not be similar to what they would give you on a different card type.  Even if it does end up being the same or similar it would likely be a coincidence, IMO.  While a pre-approval might be a good sign that an approval for a different product would be likely, I've not seen any data points on if a dual card (MC/V) pre-approval for one product would indicate that another product would be approved for a dual card as well.

Just my 2¢.

Side note:  "Dual Card" is what Synchrony calls the Mastercard/Visa versions of their store cards.
