FNBO 0% Promotional Terms Experience?

Hi Gang -

I have a preapproval for an FNBO Evergreen Visa - but do not understand the 0% for 12 billing cycles promotion. It states on the bottom of the offer page and in the summary of credit terms this:

"You must pay your entire statement balance (including all promotional purchase and balance transfer balances) by the due date each month to avoid being charged interest on new purchases from the date those purchases are made, unless your new purchases are subject to a 0% interest rate."

Am I interpreting that correctly that any balance I have at the end of the monthly statement will be assessed interest, and that the only way to acheive zero interest for 12 cycles is to not carry any balance? Or is it self-explanatory that since I have a 0% intro rate there will be no interest? It seems obvious, I just get gun shy and start doubting myself!

Any personal experience or knowledge with this is appreciated! I included links below for reference.

For the FNBO Evergreen Visa promotion you shared, it confirms that both 0% APR on standard purchases and Balance Transfers are for the duration of the 12-month promotion, so you should be ok so as long as you PIF any BT portion of your balance before the expiration date.  Otherwise, you'll have residual interest.

Re: FNBO 0% Promotional Terms Experience?

Thank you for the reply. Good to know. I currently don't have a balance to transfer - but I did want to make sure any purchases I make, or if I did transfer a balance, that the 0% was good as long as I paid it all off within 12 months. The weird statement about paying the balance in full before statement end date tripped me up.

Thanks!

Charge and pay as you want for 11 months.
Interest will start on your balance at the end of 12 months.

It will not accrue during the 11/12 months.

BTW, I just got auto CLIs on both of my FNBO cards and both have balances.

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.
