Fingerhut Catalog Preapproval?!

I received a fingerhut catalog today and it says I was Preapproved for the credit card. I'm looking to build up my credit. Would this be a hp or sp. would you guys recommend it. Currently I have 1 secured card and one authorized user Walmart card. Really looking into getting maybe 2 store cards and then garden till I can get a unsecured card.

I don't see where it could hurt ......I think the card is issued by Web Bank.   Not sure if you will get a HP or SP though.  I think it would benefit you as much as the AU card if not more.

It's a hp. Thier staff is expensive, I mean is overpriced. They also report to two CRA, can't recall which ones but one is out. I wouldn't recommend it, since they don't benefit you all across the board and thier merchandise is overpriced. Try something else maybe Amazon store card. Just my two cents

They pulled all 3 for me. It's done its job to help me rebuild. Was my first revolving line after my charge offs. Shop smart and look at sale items, free shipping codes, and it works well. CLIs often as well.

As far as reporting, they have reported to all 3 CRAs on mine so not sure why others have had problems

It is going to be a HP.  I would not worry too much about HP's at the moment as you are rebuilding.  Three cards is ideal for maximum scoring.  Yes Fingerhut do report to all three cb's.

Mine reports to all three as well. As mentioned the merchandise is a little more expensive but most is only slightly so. Avoid electronics and big ticket items. That stuff is very overpriced. Check the clearance section as well. There's actually really good deals there. It's definitely great to help with your rebuilding. If your approved try gettington as well. It's a sister company and will give you to revolving trade lines.

If you wind up on the FreshStart program it reports as an installment.  I got off FreshStart and they gave me a $250 limit on a revolving account.  I haven't touched it.  

Depending on your scores you may qualify for Amazon (which is cheaper and better).  I got that and Walmart at lower 600-625 range. That's a good place as any to start, but don't go overboard on the store cards.

i tried the pre qual from capital one.  only the secured card pops up.  which i already have.    it hasnt reported on my credit report just yet. im hoping its soon. my score has gone up to 618 . thats before my secured card.
