It was approved today and emaill got that they will send Bilt credit card in 7 business day.
Now I am trying to understand how Bilt works.
- So far, I understood that, my rent will be deducted from my bank account (if I enable "BiltProtect") and Bilt will send check to my landlord. Bilt credit card is not in picture here at all. But on other side, if Bilt credit card is used for rent, there will not be any additional fees, but it will help to build her credit history, which is not happening on transfer from bank transfer.
- Secondly, she will need to do at least 5 transactions in one month, to earn points for our rent pay. Here Bilt credit card will be used.
- Thirdly, she have to make sure that she does transaction on 1st of every month (if possible), to earn double points than regular rate.
Am I understanding this correct?
Congrats
on her Approval.
I read more and got my doubts cleared. Only one question now.
She can ask Bilt to issue check to loanlord from her bank account directly and they will send check to lanlord, for which rent will be dudecuted from her checking account.
Here Bilt credit card is not coming in picture. Will this still build here credit history ? Or she will have use user bilt credit card to issue check against and that only will help to built credit history ?
Focus is to get earn points + build credit history, so she can apply for other cards in a year's time

every month that the bill is paid on time by the due date (either minimum, or in full) regardless of the balance or how much is spent on the card, it could $0 or $10000, it doesn't matter. You will get credit for an on-time payment and 'credit building' will happen.
I assume you need to have the 5 transactions on the card to get the points from the rent payment, so you'll be using the card anyway. Just make sure the bill is paid every month, by the due date, preferably the full statement balance as opposed to the minimum.
So, if my rent will go the checking account (bypassing Bilt credit card) and rest 5 transactions wil be done by Bilt credit card, that will help in 'credit building' , even there are 5 transactions of $1 each. As I understood, that should do the job.
