Gold Delta Skymiles Card

Applied today and got the message that the response will take 14 days. That doesn't tend to be a good sign, but at the same time I was sent a pre-approved mailer with a code. Has anyone else had this experience, and how did that turn out for you?

I just did this week. Called in, had to do verification and was approved. Same mailer probably. The pretty gold one with the code on the front.

Yep! Lovely gold mailer with the code on the front behind a peel away sticker that was absolutely infuriating to get off!

If you don't mind me asking, what were you approved for?

1k SL but I'll request an increase at activation. It's low but it's my in with Amex so I know I can get it to about 15k in a year or less.

I might go ahead and give them a call tomorrow to speed this along then. I wonder if I'll be able to merge by Plenti card into the Delta card if they do approve me...

AFAIK, they will not be able to "merge" the two accounts (provided the Delta CC gets approved).  Both rewards programs are entirely separate.

I got this too last week, a couple weeks after getting a mailer for the Amex gold.

Seems like a good card, but since my goal is CSP it doesn't seem to make sense in the wallet, right?

I called in to check on the application status. It was held up because of an identiy proection measure. After verifying my identity it was approved with a SL of $1,000.

I'm not sure if I should call in again to see if I can get that SL increased or if I should wait a while.
