Hey everyone! So I’m finally ready to apply for a card that has been on my mind for years... the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Wondering you guys think I'd get approved for it.
Appearently Chase pulls Experian where I am. Per the Experian app my scores are as follows:
Credit Score- 735
Utilization- 54% Note: My utl is really like 1 percent but for some reason a Dell Computer installment acct reports as a revolving card and counts against my available revolving.
Amex Delta Gold- 3000 limit reporting 67 dollars
Dell- 4000 limit reporting about 3700. Which is what makes up the utilization mentioned above.
Others:
Amex Platinum- Reporting 500 dollars and not going against utilization.
About 18k car payment left
Peloton about 2k left on installment loan from Affirm.
Perfect payment history, no latenesses.
Income- 125k
I really want the Sapphire Reserve, but I already have the Amex Platinum and I think most of the benefits overlap. So figured maybe just get the CSP since apparently it's easier to get approved and then if I want to upgrade next year I could always do that I’m sure.
So yeah, Experian 735. 125k income. TU and Equifax haven't updated yet so waiting for those to just in case.
Thoughts on approval odds?
Have you gone to the Chase website and looked under the Credit Cards section to see if you're preapproved?
If you apply, be aware that Chase does sometimes also pull from one of the other 2 major CRAs and not just Experian.

I think your utilization is too high. You should get rid of that Dell balance before applying.

Yeah, no pre approvals from them. Definitely waiting until I see the other 2 go up in score too. Just saw Equifax repot 715 on CK. Interesting how there's a 20 point difference between that and experian. Still waiting to see TU update

Credit Karma scores are Vantage 3.0, not FICO.

Ahhh. I’m assuming Chase (and most place) use Fico and not Vantage? I was curious because on my Chase Bank app they have the credit simulator and I believe it's Vantage. So I was wondering if that's just what they use for applications as well, or if that's just what they use for the bank app

That's just what they use for their Credit Journey page.

You should be able to see your EX fico score on the Amex App
