Well said Redeyez!!!!!! And Magnetic Obsession....thank you for your kind words OP will be fine...just needs to take it easy a bit. But I empathize with his situation. We see those scores jump and just get that itchy trigger finger. 12 months from now he/she will look back upon this thread and say "wow..what was I doing...good thing I waited"
He/she can take us out to dinner on his/her amex platinum.
Don't worry OP...I eat on the left side of the menu

Haha I will do that.
I do bet Iook back and laugh. Hopefully with several pre quals from prime lenders!
Thanks you too.
Btw I called again just to make 100% sure the reason is too new history and not co(s). The girl explicitly told me a co wouldn't determine if i get a csrd or not. Its my credit age that kept me from getting approved. So that's good.
The other thing was she mentioned they only pull one bureau and it's random but tu and ex was pulled for me. She said she only has tu there for me. What does this mean?
@Anonymous wrote:Dont worry so much about the score...many lenders now (especially when it goes to UW) are moving towards a more hollistic method of approving/denying accounts (type/cl/aaoa/etc). So, like I said...if you handle the credit you have now...you will be fine.
FYI...before my divorce I was a centurion member. Score was over 800 on all 3. But My divorce was just awful...lost everything...credit score was around 420. I literally (I have stated this on other threads) had a rush card that was still being declined. But I picked myself up by my bootstraps...got a secured card...and a first premier (I know..I know) and regrouped step by step and, sooner than I expected, it all started to fall back into place. So..when I tell you i know..believe me...I know. In no time you will be getting mailings from chase, citi, ames..pre-approvals..etc. Just let time do its job..Ok??

You are so right gmoney, I have been through the same as you, Scores in the 750+ range with several cards with 25000 credit limits. Then the big D happened and I was in the rebuilding game, LOL. It can be very frustrating playing the waiting game with credit. But patience does pay off.
Chase can pull whatever. They pulled TU/EX on me at the end of September, and both of mine were 800+. My EQ was frozen as are all three now.
P.S. If the OP does take anyone to dinner, I'm hoping it is using the CSP since there are 2x rewards for dining out.
When I app again next year, should I go for amex bcp first? Assuming they both pull ex, which one do I not want a fresh inq showing?
Chase told me when I called my CO for my chase card back in 2009 had no bearing on my denial.
When I got the letter in the mail, it clearly said one of the reasons was due to past accounts with Chase.
Make sure you read the letter when you get it!
