Got Overstock 7-10 day message during cart trick but nothing came in mail or email

It's definitely been 10 business days, but I got the pop-up during an Overstock checkout a couple weeks ago and had to change the address during the process of giving them info, which probably triggered the 7-10 day message I got. I had to change the address because I just moved out of state and the prequal offers I've had are for the old address. My scores have stayed about the same. Anyway, I haven't received a single communication from them since!

How can I contact Comenity to figure out what's going on? This is an ongoing thing I have with them. My first and previous card from them was VS, which I was approved to get, which appears on my credit reports, and yet I've never received a card nor any new contact from them. It seems weird. Why is it with me that anything from Comenity just goes up into the ether, so to speak? Anybody else have these experiences?

I'm sorry you're having problems with your Overstock app.

A little while back there was somebody with a similar issue with a Virgin Atlantic card (also Comenity), and if I'm not mistaken they changed something after the pop-up as well.  It seems that in their case the application did, indeed go into the 'ether', and they ended up having to reapply.

From what I recall reading on here, it seems the 'pop-up' approvals aren't really set up for anything to be changed, and it's almost as if their computers don't know what to do when somebody does change something.  You might try making a call to see if Comenity has a record of you (if you look around this site there should be a number, probably in the sticky threads).

Otherwise, you might need to reapply, either once the 'pop-up' is working with your new address, or you could apply the 'traditional' way, although that would likely be a HP.

Sorry I don't have anything more useful to contribute.  Smiley Sad

Re: Got Overstock 7-10 day message during cart trick but nothing came in mail or email

I'd call them and see if they need anything. Last year, I apped for their Torrid card and got the 7-10 day message. I never received anything from them until a month later. It was a request for further info dated 2 DAYS before the deadline to get back to them. I called to try to get it sorted and was told there was nothing they could do without another app because it was past the deadline. What a waste of a HP.

Those pop ups do not like when you change something......I would use the old address ( Just make sure you have a forwarding order on file) AND when the card arrives, change your address directly with the creditor. When I changed info while accepting the SCT,  I got the 7-10 day messages.....when I left the info the same and did it, I was approved.

I'd try calling, but wouldn't be surprised if you had to app all over again.

Re: Got Overstock 7-10 day message during cart trick but nothing came in mail or email

Having that card sent to the old address, or having anything to do with that old address, is super scary! I had a nightmare apartment with a very awful slumlord. Anyway, I used an old address awhile back for my VS card and never received it nor found a way to get the address changed. It's funny, because that card reports.

Being a programmer on websites, I wouldn't be surprised if the address change form is barely functional. Sometimes we are asked to put things on a site for now, and in another project, when time and money is alotted, we'll go back and do it "right." Cue three years later when a new hire stumbles upon it and asks, "Wait, does this even do anything?" Lol.

You should already have a forwarding order with the post office before using the old address....then the credit card will get forwarded to the new address, then change your address with the card company.

Re: Got Overstock 7-10 day message during cart trick but nothing came in mail or email

This is one of the most frustrating things for me with some people and their credit. You should never just let anything as far as your financial business go "up into the ether." I have two credit cards through Comenity (one of them being the VS card) and never had any issues whatsoever.

If you were approved for something and never received a card you should have immediately given them a call no later than 2 weeks after you were supposed to receive everything. That may not have been Comenity. Your mail could have gotten lost, your account may have been set up incorrectly or, god forbid, some unscrupulous character stole your card during transit. Could be a number of things. Either way it's important to know what's happening with your finances and your information in general.

Sorry about lecturing, but stay on top of it! Lol 😜

Re: Got Overstock 7-10 day message during cart trick but nothing came in mail or email

Why is someone else's business frustrating to you? Right after I got the approval, I lost my job, and between the chaos of a job search and dealing with a slum lord while the apartment was practically falling down over my head, I really didn't give a crap.

My life is more settled now, that's why I'm going back and trying to figure this stuff out.

+1

There are always 'best practices' that we should all follow, but sometimes "life happens" and things just don't work out that way.

Kudos for the progress you're making now.  Smiley Wink
