Gross income vs adjusted gross

Which do people use when apping?  I've always listed AGI but am I missing out by not including the extra 20K (or so) pre-tax deductions?

Your annual income is your gross income, which CC applications are seeking.

I've always used my gross income.  Synchrony, however, asks for net income, in my experience.

Creditinspired- totally depends on the issuer. Sync wants your NET, after tax income
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

I did not know that fltireguy. Wow, so someone's who is self-employed and write off a ton of expenses would be SOL. Yikes! 😫

Always use your gross.  They'll figure it out and calculate the difference if need be.  Even Synch.

Yup. Go ahead and do that. And then when you get a blue envelope, they will find out that you inflated your income when you send the 4506-T form in. And then they will close your acounts.

This is why I think alot of people get the blue .enevlopes from Sync... Sync has alot of  ways to find out what one makes such as The Work Number, etc...  They can't support say 50k in CC with Sync  alone when they state their NET income at 70k lets says, but in reality their real NET income is say 45kish.
