Re: HELP - Looking for a BT card ASAP!

Congrats to DW - that is a very nice TU score!! I bet she would have a good chance at a Barclay card with that score!

Re: HELP - Looking for a BT card ASAP!

Thanks. DW burned Capital One and Chase before the rebuild, around 2009/2010. Nothing left on her reports whatsoever regarding these accounts. She prolly won't get back in with them anytime soon, yet she's an AU on both of my Cap 1 cards. Hehe. And her scores were around 588 in November. I did some serious work behind the scenes to clean our credit up over the last year.

Okay I'll try Amex and Discover tomorrow. I want the 3X CLI on Amex, and Discover just to say I did it. The home builder's preferred lender needs to pull credit tomorrow just for us to be able to buy a new construction home, even with our lending solution in place. I don't want him to see I was apping, but my mtg lady said it's okay.

Umm.. Cap1 is the most forgiving lender I know - Chase is another story. If DW burned Cap1, and it's already off her reports, then she can get in with them. There are many people who burned Cap1 recently (still on their reports) and they got back in. I burned tCap1 years ago and they are my highest limits now.

Good luck with your apps tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Re: HELP - Looking for a BT card ASAP!

I may need to hold off on app'ing until next Monday.  We disputed a charge on our BofA card the day of (or day before) statement cutting last month, and the account shows up in the CRAs as "in dispute". Worse yet, EQ removed all the account data that could be used for credit scoring purposes.  I didn't know that until today when I got familiar with wandering around our myFICO credit report (I'm used to CCT reports). The next statement date for that account is next Monday, and BofA said the dispute process could take up to 30 days, which would be the statement date (Monday) at the very latest.

My EQ score could be over 700 with the BofA data properly reporting.  I also looked back at last year's HP's and saw Discover pulled EX and EQ when I app'd & got denied.  Amex pulled EX, and the reasons were:

Number of inquiries

Utilization

no installment accounts

too few accts in good standing

Score 636 (on June 16, 2015)

As of now, I've had an auto loan for 11 statements, utilization is listed as Good to Very Good, and I have 7 revolving accounts with 100% good payment history. The myFICO 3B report only shows 9 EX HP's for the last 12 months. 2 lender pulls for mtg pre qual, one from October, 5 from last June, 1 from last May.

Think I have a shot at AMEX with my current EX profile?  All of the AMEX denial reasons from last year no longer apply at this very moment.

Re: HELP - Looking for a BT card ASAP!

I think you have a good shot at Amex (either the ED or BCE) now with the way your profile sits today, but if you prefer to wait until Monday it's up to you.

Re: HELP - Looking for a BT card ASAP!

Monday is for app'ing for a card that pulls EQ. I'll try the Amex app first. Is the BCE harder to get than the ED? If I get denied for one, can I app for the other with the same HP? Could I app for both off the same HP and get approved?

I saw in another post that some people apply for either of those, and then Delta (or the other way around), off the same HP. Can I kill two stones with one bird with Amex?

Approved for BCE.  Instant approval, 10k starting limit, and account is already set up online.  Almost fell out of my chair right now. Doubleya Tee Eff. Can I do a CLI?

JustMe3, you complete me. Thank you so much for all your input for the last couple months!
