HSBC Application status

I didnt receive any email from them yet, applied 2 hours ago and got this message on the screen. Is this what hsbc pending review message looks like ? I thought i should have received an email by now. But no email yet. ?

deep it looks pending but will approve keep an eye on junk folder just in case and i  just post somewhere that HSBC is super security sensitive so brace yourself give them a few days now and than call them hopefully you will get it without a hitch

Pretty much everyone who has posted on MyFico about app'ing for a HSBC card, including myself, has had to call in to get the app approved by HSBC security & released to underwriting for approval/decline. 888.385.8916, the # for CCs from my HSBC online account.

They SP EX and HP EQ.

It took six days after applying to receive an email stating to call them. When I called, they needed to send a code to my phone. I was on my house phone and had to click over for it. They then wanted me to fax my ID. A follow up call informed me that my fax came through blurry. I had to email them the front and back of my ID. Five minutes later, I got my approval email.

Nov 24th- applied for cash rewards with ex frozen . No confirmation email , No id requests etc. App was stuck in the security for A LONG time.

Nov 30th - Applied for Platinum with Ex unfrozen. Received confirmation email and on Dec 7th received the request for id. Uploaded ID on the same day.

Dec 14th - Received an approval email for the platinum and a denial email for the cash rewards. Cash rewards denial stated that my report was frozen and they couldnt pull it . So i guess my second platinum app was successful because i had unfrozen EX at the time i applied. 

I wish i had been approved for Cash rewards but i guess my mistake that i thought they pull eq not ex. But looks like they do pull Eq but soft pull ex. and mine was denied because they couldnt soft pull ex? not sure. But atleast platinum is approved so im getting the bonus.

i have not been notified of credit inquiry yet.

I went through a long process with them including sending them documents and then they send me a letter saying "we were unable to verify your identity." Total waist of time.

I applied online Nov 24, 2017, Received pending review.

I heard nothing again so I called them on Dec 4, 2017, they told me to email a copy of my electric bill.

I heard nothing again until Dec 16, 2017. Finally received an email "card approved"

I mean what are they doing? such a very long time to get approved in this day and age?

About 20 days from application to approval.

they only did a soft pull at first but did a hard pull the day they approved me.

my scores; EX 803, TU 828, EQ 801 as of todays date about the same when I applied
