My information was accurate. They completed the acquisition of Household International's credit card operations in 2003, sold off the UK component in 2007, and sold off the US component to Capital One in 2011.

They also spent over $1 billion a few years ago to settle a class action lawsuit stemming from the original acquistion 2003.

To be completely honest, I hate my HBSC MC. Their website and app are ghetto. It takes forever to make a payment and their customer service is probably the worst I have ever seen.
I had a card prior to my bankruptcy and never had an issue. Right now the card is in the bottom of the safe.
