Hi All,
So I've gotten all my scores back up to 700 across the board. Have an old auto loan I cosigned on that's still on my credit after 8 years for some reason but marked "paid"
I applied for BOA card (whichever one had the longest BT duration); the boring one. I have plenty of Cashback PIF cards.
They requested POI (proof of income - pay stubs) and the SSA89 form (which I had already agreed to on their application, so that's odd.
I have not been able to get a hold of ANYONE there.. like all the recon numbers don't work any more (I suppose for maybe they lost money?)
But does ANYONE have a good number I can call them? I sent in everything they requested over two weeks ago and the thirty days on my application is coming up in four days. I even wrote them a letter explaining my household income (as I earn bout half of what I put on the HHI section - still relatively high); I also included a bank statement lol which uhm... Ive been banking with them for over 2 years now, and they pretty much pre approve me for every card and are constantly offering me $100 to put $1000 in a savings account, start Merrill Lynch accts with them (I like Fidelity but would consider)...
In any event, I'm not looking for snotty comments, I'm genuinely trying to contact them about my application that I put a lot of effort into.
They told me because I applied at 1 am in the morning, thats usually when fraud happens so that's why they requested the extra info. I'm a very private person, but at this point, it's like whatever.
I even have a paid off mortgage with them from a long long time ago (I accelerted the payments and wound up paying a 30 yr mtg off in like 3 years) but when I spoke with them last, they thanked me for being a customer for 15 years. LOLOL
Does anyone have a good phone number at all I can contact them at and skip all the unhelpful parts? I feel like Ive called t least a dozen to no avail. even their letter requesting poi and SSA89 form didn't have a number on it.
I think also because I'm in in LA near the fires, they have probably had many many people max out cards and not pay them ($350 billion in damage to $20 million homes would do that) But fortunately I wasn't impacted by the fires and my home remains as well as my financial statuses.

I love the constantly evolving backstory and can't wait to hear how it progresses lmao. The mortgage you paid off in 3 years is a sweet new chapter.
There's always context. lol
Appreciate you appreciating my rambling. I just don't want to have wasted a hard pull for nothing. I've had zero hard pulls in 12 months on Experian where they pulled but 9 from 2023 (car shopping and good rebuild cards)
It got approved! yay! Limit though is below $5k. I'll ask for a CLI when I get the card. The nice lady on the phone told me they just approved it today

If there were any late payments, they should be gone by now, making this a positive tradeline for you, which means it will be gone after 10 years. But for now, it should be helping your profile, not hurting it.

Congrats on your new card! Given the low SL, a CLI may not be available right away but a reallocation should be quick and easy. If memory serves you can reallocate all but $500 from current card(s) to make ample room for a BT if needed.
Congrats on your approval! This thread is now closed to new replies. Please feel free to continue your discussion in the Approvals board.Thank you!
