I have even seen lenders pull new credit minutes before closing and the borrower got a new card and that killed the house.
Yeah, you should expect a soft pull at the closing.

So I thought what the hell, let me apply for both the Venture card and BofA card. Well I'm left feeling a little disappointed to be honest. Got approved for both, Venture @ 5k limit and BofA at a mere $1,800 limit. I feel so foolish and feel like I absolutely wasted those hard pulls (not to mention my AAoA is going to be way lower now). I really thought I would get higher limits
Uhh ohh, you probably should have waited until after you closed. I know two people who's closing didn't go through because of new CC's issued after pre-approval and another friend that got slapped with a significant increase in their interest rate because of ONE additional hard pull. They all had on the boarder credit score around the same range as yours. Good luck, I really hope this doesn't impact you. The mortgage process can be such a pain
