Help me decide. Alliant CC + Personal Loan

I’m itching to apply with Alliant for Visa Rewards CC, as well as Personal loan (10k) to consolidate various debts.

I’m hoping to get some feedback on if this is the best option for me to take versus all the many lenders out there. I’m open to all opinions.

I chose Alliant based on:
- “Generous” starting limits with their CC.
- No need to be a member to apply.
- Pulls Fico9 Transunion, for me 70 points higher than Fico8.
- Good Personal loan rates comparatively (wanting 10k)

My stats are as follows.
Fico 9 scores 750+
22% UTI
38% DTI
50k salary
2 inquiries in 12 months.
AAoA 3yrs 8mo.

3 collections paid in full, 2+ years old. (Fico9 doesn’t calculate this in score.... but still on report, thoughts?)

Is Alliant very DTI-focused? A lot of credit unions are. 38% might be too high for them.

I’m unsure if they are DTI sensitive??

I do roommate with one other person.... could I just put down that My rent monthly, is less than it actually is? Put down on paper I pay 400 month, as opposed to 900.

That few hundred extra would put me under 30%

It’s never advisable to lie on a credit application for any reason. If your portion of the rent is $900 then that’s what you put down.

I don’t think you understand that lying on an application isn’t some minor thing, it’s a federal crime, and these credit card issuers have ways of verifying income and expenditures. All you do when you lie is increase your likelihood of the lender shutting you down at a minimum or if you go and have to file bankruptcy, having your petition denied for lying to your lenders. The most extreme consequence is time behind bars.
