Help

I applied for a Capital One CC recently. My denial letter indicated a credit score of 519. I've had medico for about two months and my EX is 564, TU 535, and EQ 564. What should I do? Should I even contact them?

If the app/denial was just recent, you may be able to talk to Capital One about opening a secured card off that same hard pull credit inquiry. Using a secured card, you put up some money as security to get basic credit, then that enables you to start showing payments on a credit product. Paying that credit card, even if it is just a $200 limit, on time each month, is the best way to start improving your credit score. In fact, it's probably the only way.

Capital One will treat you fairly. It's worth a call to try that route.

Re: Help

In my opinion get a secured card from SDFCU it reports to all the credit bureaus and no credit check. It wont unsecure but a great stepping stone to better cards. Good Luck with your credit journey!
