When you feel good, you tend to roll the dice. So that's what I did with BOA. Auto decline and still declined even after recon.
Reasoning:
- Recent BK or intent to file. (I find this hilarious that they think an eight-year-old BK7 is recent or that I would be filing for BK after my recent approval/increases)
- lack of deposit account (So they want me to put money in their bank to be approved? That's a no-go for me. I don't plan on opening a bank account with BOA just to get them to approve me)
I really don't need them and they obviously don't want me. I will gladly enjoy what I have cause I am blessed to be in the position I am in now.

Sorry for your BoA denial![]()
They definitely can be like a finicky cat at times![]()
It's their perogative as to who they choose to issue cards to as long as they aren't violating any laws or regulations.
Sorry this happened but there are plenty of other good cards out there that are not issued by BoA.
Much like with Wells Fargo it isn't exactly unheard of for BoA to deny a CC application based upon not already having a depost account.
Boa will only issue me about half my income and not a penny/ cc more no matter how hard i try
. I havent had bt offers in over a year plus but it is what it is. At least theyve given me a couple decent apr redux when i call in![]()

100% agree with that. I just thought they would be ok with seeing some history but if they expect me to open a bank account just to be considered for a credit card, I can pass on that. I don't NEED it but it would be NICE to have. Maybe down the road, I will check in on our friends over at AOD.

they are wild over there!

I was declined for Disco with a high balance (it was under 1% both for the card and across accounts) and too many inquiries (1 in the last 24 months at the time).
In this instance, they don't need to define what they mean by a high balance or too many inquiries. They may not want to reveal the real reason for your denial, so they use a potential, albeit very absurd, reason.

AOD requires you to be a member, and thus open a savings account. So same thing there - you would be expected to open a deposit account.
