I currently have 2 AMEX cards, an Optima with a $0 balance as well as an SPG which had a $5200 balance at the time I applied for a 3rd card 2 weeks ago: the AMEX Everday. I was denied the AMEX EVERYDAY, although Discover immediately approved me for one of their cards. Both of my AMEX cards now have a $0 balance, and I am still very interested in the AMEX Everyday, as I want to perform a balance transfer from another card.
How long should I wait before reapplying?
Starting Score: 640
Starting Score: 640You should wait until the later part of the month as they seem to soft pull around the 17th or 18th of the month so make sure they get a new record if your score is inching upwards. That goes for everybody nothing worse than applying for a card a month-and-a-half later and they use the same one in your denial letters, or even worse change bureaus on you and find an even older one that has not updated. Jury is still out if buzzing the tower at all pre approval sites forces new softpulls but it can't hurt

I would say wait until you have addressed the reason you were denied....
