How often should I request CLI for NFCU?

Hello. I was wondering how often I should ask for a credit limit increase for NFCU?

I believe since you just received a CLI, you will have to wait 6months now.

Re: How often should I request CLI for NFCU?

From what ive read it seems to very from person to person. But mine was most definitely a hard pull. it stung a bit. 8pt loss. But not that I got the increase i feel better about it.

8 point drop for a Navy increase is worth it in my book cuz, thatll bounce back. 8 points is a drop in the bucket in this crazy game we call credit. How much was your recent cli songburd? When did you get your card? Thanks.

Read the NFCU CLI thread by Credit Addict, CA has all of the answers in there and he/she is an expert in all things NFCU.  Follow credit addicts advice and your limits will grow nicely.

Re: How often should I request CLI for NFCU?

I requested the max CLI at 3 statements, 90 days and received a EQ HP (FICO- 657) and review message on 4/22/17. Still haven't heard anything, so I'm assuming it's a no-go. So, it appears that soft versus hard pulls vary per individual. I'll continue to make due with my $14,300 SL that I rarely use. Just sharing my experience.

Current FICO 8s: Ex 768, Tu 741, Eq 741
Current FICO 9s: Ex 775, Tu ?? Eq 781

Yeah I agree with you on that. I Got my card back at the end of November 2016. They gave me a SL of $1700 and just bumped me up $1500 bringing me to $3200.00. Its not a huge CLI like I was hoping but again its way better than taking a hp for nothing.

Re: How often should I request CLI for NFCU?

Well they should send you a letter. But look at your Credit limit. Thats how I knew mine was approved. They didnt call or email to let me know the CLI had been approved. I just so happened to be looking at my acct and I said hmm.. Let me go look at my CL and sure enough it had been increased. Go take a look. Wouldnt hurt.. When you requested the CLI did you increase your income? That is key. You may want to increase your income by at least $3000

Re: How often should I request CLI for NFCU?

Yes, I've checked on the website and my limit remains the same. lol. I think I did increase my income as it did go up in Feb. by $2000. I was trying to wait on the letter before calling in to inquire. I also called in immediately (within 30 seconds) when I received the review message to avoid the hard pull, but it was too late. Another poster suggested uploading check stubs. I wonder if that would help in my situation?
