How should I apply?

I want to start using credit cards instead of debit cards. I have 4 of them but they're all lower limits around 1k a piece and NFCU for 6500.

My credit scores are all 680 or above with no late payments.

I want a Walmart card because I shop there all the time, a Chase Freedom, Amazon because I shop there all the time and maybe a Lowes because they offer big credit limits.

My current utilization is 58%

My average age of account is 4 years, I'm worried about killing that but maybe it'll be worth it?

Should I apply for them all at the same time or apply for one every few months?

Have you checked any of the pre-qual pages for those cards?

Re: How should I apply?

If I we're you, I would get your utilization under 30% before applying for anything.

No, I didn't even know you could do that.

I guess I need to read up on things, I haven't worked on my credit in years.

Re: How should I apply?

While getting your util % down would help, its not impossible to be approved.

Could you tell us more info on your scores and the cards you already have?

Have you requested CLI's on those cards with a soft pull? That can help your utilization as well because it will lower your percentage. Plus, it would be SP so no harm no foul in my book.

Sorry for all of the questions just trying to help!

Your right, it's not impossible. Either a decline (most probable), or toy limit.

Thanks for the reply.

I do not want a toy limit, I want a good quality card with a lower APR.

Next month I'll pay down and have a 10% utilization so I'll apply then all credit scores should be well over 700.

I'm looking at

Chase Freedom Preferred

Chase Sapphire Preferred

Amazon

Walmart

I'd like all four of those cards, should I apply for all four of them on the same day?
