Re: How solid is this discover offer
Not solid at all as it is a huge range of APR. Interesting thing is is says secure on it. Never seen that before. Don't trust the Discover Pre-Qualify site EVER!

Re: How solid is this discover offer
I'm curious if the SECURE is in reference to the SSL connection to the webpage and is unrelated to the actual card itself.

Dont think so as I ran the pre-qual to see if they changed it but don't see secure on mine.

Re: How solid is this discover offer
It looks like a typical prequal offer from Discover. I don't think Discover does special targeted offers (if they do, it must be very rare), so it's probably what you would get if you apply for Discover IT any place at this time. One thing is, if you have a referral from a Discover cardmember, you could get $50 for making your first purchase (theoretically this gets doubled to $100, i.e. you get $50 more one year later, per their "double cashback for the first year" promotion). If you PM me your email I could send you a referal. (I would also get $50 if you get approved for and make a purchase with your new card).

Re: How solid is this discover offer
I have heard (I can't confirm as I haven't seen it for myself) that it's only a guaranteed prequal if the interest rate is a specific number.

Re: How solid is this discover offer
There's forum posts that if they snail mail you a high quality mailer, that's a better chance. Like you KNOW they spent some cash on the envelope.

That was my experience. I was getting a mailer about once a month in 2014. All plain looking number 10's until August when I got an expensive looking over-sized one. Apped and approved.
