How to match 50,000 SW Plus offer

My friend was recently approved for the SW Plus card under the 25,000 points offer. He was told at the time that he could SM Chase and ask to match the 50,000 offer once he hit the $2,000 minimum spend. He also got a referral for the 50,000 offer shortly after approval.

Would it be best to SM Chase "I recently hit the $2,000 spend and was told I would be matched to the 50,000 offer" OR "I meant to apply with my friend's 50,000 referral but forgot, can I be matched to the 50,000 offer?"

Any advice is appreciated!

I think either way would be fine. When I had to do it for the $200 cashback (I app'd for the $100 cashback, and then the $200 cashback came out a month or 2 later) I just asked for it through SM and they gave it to me with no problem at all. Definitely worth the try

Chase is very good a honoring these sort of request.  Send them a secure message and I am sure you will ahve a positive outcome.  Keep us posted on results.
