I live outside of Huntington's geographic footprint, but I will be in Clevelend in a couple weeks and was wondering if I could walk into a branch and apply. I did this to get around US Bank's geographic restrictions a couple years ago and was wondering if I could do the same with Huntington. Anyone tried this?

If you're going to be in Huntington's geographic area and can spare a few dollars, I'd recommend finding one of their incentive coupons to open a checking account. (I found a coupon for $250 after a $5k deposit into an account, but with no ongoing minimum balance)
Then, when you're opening the checking account in the branch, they may preapprove you. I'm not an Ohio resident, just there on business. I was sitting in the branch opening the checking account and the preapproval popped up for the banker. If I recall he had the credit line already on the screen. I had to accept, of course.
When you open the checking account it's a SP on EQ. There's a HP if you accept the preapproval. If you don't get the preapproval notice, don't expect the world.

Wow, that's some really great info! Would you happen to know where we can find these coupons?
