Huntington "Duplicate Application"?

Good Morning Everyone,

This question is open to everyone, but targeted specifically to 12njoy, our Huntington (7 card) expert. Here is my scenario, which has never happened to me? I currently have 4 Huntington cards. Like 12njoy, every 90-92 days I would apply and receive instant approval for $12k, every time. A few weeks ago, 90 days came. I applied, but this time got a 5-7 day message, and NO credit pull? Strange. I waited one more day, thinking perhaps my timing was off and I was at 89 days. Nope. Applied at day 91, same instant 5-7 message with no credit pull.

Received both letters and they simply stated I have a duplicate application with them? I can understand that on the 2nd app, but not the first one? I have not applied for anything with them in 3+months. I tried again yesterday, which would be 100+ days and still the same thing.

My question is, has anyone else experienced this? I don't want to call them, and have them ask me why do I have 4 cards and am looking for a 5th, lol. Just curious, and appreciate anyone's feedback/advice.

Good question... maybe @12njoy will have some wisdom to share with us.  Smiley Happy

Thanks for sharing UncleB.  The OP has crossed out all the obvious things I would have asked (pre-90 days, prior applications, etc...).  Based on the information provided, it would appear that OP was just shy of 90 days.  Hungtington states one application every 90 days so I always waited until at least the 91st day to make sure I passed their test.  Unfortunately, once you submit an application before the timeframe, each subsequent application will be denied for duplicate application.  I used to do that early on and it bummed me out but I figured out the timing and haven't had an issue since.

Re: Huntington "Duplicate Application"?

12njoy- thanks for the reply. That must be it. All my prior apps were done 91-92+ days. This last time I applied on day 90? Now what? When does their computer reset? I’m hoping not 91 days from this most recent application.

No problem.  It's been my experience with Huntington that the last application, rather approved or not, starts the 90 day clock again.  I know that's a hard pill to swallow, but I had to do it a couple of times before I finally figured it out.

Re: Huntington "Duplicate Application"?

Ok, not what I wanted to hear, but I guess I can live with that. 4 cards will suffice for the time being, lol. Thanks again for the advice.

The same thing I said when I called Huntington and they told me that.  The good thing is that in 91 days from your last app, you can go for it again and it appears there's no limit on the number of cards.
