Happy 4th of July everyone!
We kind of went and applied a few cards today for both my partner and I. I was approved for Hyatt instantly for 8k, so was my partner for 5k. Before Hyatt approval I put in an application for my partner for CSP and got a message 7-10 day. Later the email was sent and stated 30 days. So my question is does my partner has a chance to get it approved? If there is a chance we would do the recon if not we wouldnt even bother since we both got the Hyatt today which we are pretty happy. But would not want to waste the hard pull on my partner... So here is my partner credit profile looks like, we are both chase customers, i have been with chase for 15 years or so and i have high balances in saving and checking. My average balance is kept about 20k daily and annually over 200k in assests. But my partner just moved to chase a year ago and was approved freedom, marriot and IHG in last 9 months. Beside that he only have discover card approved so that made 4 cards total... He has a chase pre-approved offer for slate card which we dont want it. Utl is about 19%, AAOA is 2year, one medical collection. 4 new inquires and one 1 from chase home loan. SCORE was 650 680 670.
So the email was sent to us about 5 hours later and stated that 30 days wait... so it seems to me that he has a chance? Any experiance or input to help us get this through would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you all and have a wonderful and enjoyable 4th!!!
please be safe too!
to be honest 7-10 days 99% denial or if you call and get 2 week message its verification. Here is the number to call 1-800-436-7927 option-# option-3 option- 1 listen to what they say. if 2 weeks Email me and I'll send you the fraud departments number so you can speed the process up. Good luck! It would be for Monday. Keep me posted!
Thank you for all the info, thats what I thought too that it was a denial. He has the other cards for about 9 months now. Could we ask them to move the credit line from two of his credit cards to open CSP or does it has to be approved? He has 6k on Marriot and 5k on Hyatt and 3.6k on IGH. Can we ask them to move a few from each to make it 5k to open the account?
thanks

Yes you can ask and Chase, sometimes, will do that. Other times they won't if they feel the applicant doesn't qualify. I certainly would ask about it though.

My spouse and I are sort of in the same boat as you. Current chase cards: Freedom, Slate, Sapphire, and IHG. All 9 months old now. Applied for Marriott by Chase on June 27th and it went to pending right away and has sat there ever since. No call, no mail, no email. On the other hand, no denial. Yet. When we do phone the status line it gives the "two week" notice each time. According to some, that's a verification issue. I suppose we are going to have to pick up the phone next week and ask them what they want. The last 2 applications (IHG and Sapphire) both filed at the same time were approved but BOTH applications required verification (March 2015). Then in June 2015 we had fraud committed on our IHG card and had to have a new account number created. So I am sure we have all sorts of flags all over that require verification; however, there's always that possibility of a denial lingering in the back of our minds! Would rather get some type of call or email telling us what they need, but it looks like we are going to have to call them
On any note, OP: congrats on all of your credit success(es), and hopefully this application pans out for you and your partner!
I've never done that myself but I know others have. Did you call your number? If not you need to to find out if its saying two weeks or not. If you need to move them I would go to a branch then dealing with a credit analyst. Just my opinion. Good luck!
Your approved! Here is the fraud department number you need 1 877 470 9042. Get ready to be asked all weird questions!
