Re: I can't stop applying for credit cards. Please help!!!

I would suggest reading through some of the rebuilding forum. There are so many stories to learn from. Many of them started with credit cards at a young age.

OP I hope you follow the great advice people has given you here.
on the topic about this forum encouragin addictive behavior, I believe this is true, but for me is the opposite. I usually read other people stories and that helps me abstain from applying lol.

It takes time and practice to become financially disciplined.  When you make a mistake, learn from it, try to figure out what tempted you to do it and eliminate the temptation.  Over time you will become better about budgeting, managing credit and saving money/investing.  Don't beat yourself up when you make mistakes, just get up and try again, try to do what is right for your finances and your future.

I would focus on reading some books about personal finances, I read Suze Orman books when I was your age.  It will get you to think about the whole financial picture in your life rather than just credit and credit cards.  Budgeting, saving and investing can be fun too!

And we've all made mistakes like that, applying too much, spending too much etc...so don't think you're the only one.

Re: I can't stop applying for credit cards. Please help!!!

I've read every thread herein so I say this with all due respect (take it for what its worth - or dont)

While I appreciate the advice and concern displayed thru-out the post the truth of the matter is this.....

No one here can help U.

When U tire of sprialing out of control (hopefully the light-bulb comes on b4 U do irreparble harm to your credit)

Rest assured U will most certainly figure out the best way..... to help yourself.

Best of luck.

I completely agree, having credit available to you is a good thing, the problem when you are young is you dont really realize how quick debt can rack up and if u are always revolving a balance, u are never in a grace period and u get into a cycle of feeling ok with making minimum payments until u need to use your cash in replace of credit and cant make your payments. Id make a list like this-
Card 1 - balance - limit- apr
Card 2 - balance - limit - apr

Ans so on so u know exactly where u stand and can strategize a payment plan. Once u have a plan, u will feel better. Take 6 months to work on your debt and by january 16 u will be in a great position to move forward.

I agree...

While I do this mentally, perhaps would be better if hard coded in spread sheet.  Haven't paid any interest since starting my rebuild, and don't want to pay any interest when 0% runs out.
