I have a BofA Visa Rewards card and have a question I am hoping someone could assist me with.
This card has an annual fee of $39.
What would be the chances of switching this card to another BofA visa but without the yearly fee? And how would one go about doing so?
It would be great if the amount of time that I have had this card would transfer over to the new card so it won't show as a brand new card and then offset my AAoA.
Thanks in advance for your insights.
have you tried calling a bank of america back door credit analyst and see if they can remove it for u?
if not, write an email to their ceo. you can google the boa ceo and his email will come up. write in your email that you have excellent credit, love boa and want the fee removed.
someone will call you the next day and take the fee away. they usually look at TransUnion for cardmembers, and you have over 800. they bests please you! good luck!

Hi ddemari,
No I haven't tried calling. I can also google the backdoor number, right? If so, I will go ahead and call now and see what they tell me and I will report back here to let you and everyone else know. That way everybody benefits- including myself ;-)
Just called this number that I googled, and after being switched internally to someone else, they told me that they would look into it, and I would receive a telephone call back. The guy also told me that if I would prefer something in the mail, I would be able to get that too. I told him a phone call back would be fine.
Now I guess I will have to wait a return phone call. Hopefully they will not take too long to get back with me. I asked if this would involve a hard pull of my credit report, and the guy told me no it would not. He said there was no need because I already have the card. I then stated that my credit scores have gone up (fico 8) big time since I first got the card, and I wanted to take advantage of better APRs, as well as no annual fees. He then asked me if I knew my scores, and I told him yes I did. All in all, this really makes me wonder. Hmmmm....
I appreciate the vote of confidence.
Hopefully they do not do a hard pull of my credit, and hopefully I can get off of this card which was fine a the time for me, but now is no longer what I "need" if that makes any sense.... hehe...
And yes I will keep you posted.
Thanks again for your insights and advice.
Sounds like you are talking from experience ;-) I suspect I will probably hear from them tomorrow. I will make sure to have my phone ring both at home as well as my cell phone too. And like I say, I will keep you posted.
Thanks
