Three basic cards in a very short period of time. Be glad they denied you. You need to use the cards you have and let them cook. A year from now you'll be in a better place. Just for reference, I was in a similar spot about two and a half years ago: unscorable and being denied for basic stuff even though I owned my home outright and had cash in hand. Capital One gave me a QuicksilverOne card which got the ball rolling. 30 months later my FICO score is breaking into the 800s with $60k+ available credit.
