If you are an authorized user can it prevent you from getting that same credit card?

I know credit cards can have limits on the amount you can have by the same company. Will it hurt my ability of getting an Am EX card, for instance, if I get added as an AU on my husband’s?

Turning the question around - does it help with Amex to have been an AU or does it make no difference?
