I used to have my checking/savings accounts with Chase but moved over to NFCU in 2019. I still have my Chase online account active. When I login in it says "you're already approved" on a green ribbon next to a star for all of their cards. When I take a look at the offer it gives me an exact APR. Is this a solid pre-approval? I only ask because I burned Chase in a bk about 15 years ago and have not been able to get in since. I haven't tried for about three years though.
I have been interested in the Amazon Visa card; however, when I go to the pre-qualify page on Amazon it says I am not pre-qualified for the Amazon Visa card. This makes me leery, as the Chase site says I am "already approved" on all of their core cards, but I am not pre-qualifed for a co-branded card that Chase seems to have been more relaxed with lately. I know I may just need to roll the dice but I don't want to burn a HP if the pre-approval isn't accurate or I'm still on the naughty list. I assume if I am on the blacklist from 15 years ago the system wouldn't know this until a HP was completed?
Yes, whenever the green star/black star ribbons display, those are typically solid offers. An item to keep in mind, just because one can receive a pre-approved offer on one portal doesn't mean one will have the same results with the others (i.e. Amazon) and viceversa. So, it's up to you to decide if you want to pull the trigger on any of the cards that have the green star ribbon.

Yes the preapprovals are solid.

Thank you for the response and clarifications! @FinStar @SouthJamaica
That is good to know!! I have them too! One is for Saffire Reserve. Should I risk going for one of their top cards as my first, based on this when no other big bank will give me more than $1k unsecured? Now, I have not applied for any big bank cards for maybe 4 years when I started my credit card journey. My existing cards won't increase above $1k. 690 FICO, high income, doing everything right....NOBODY cares. Chase would therefore be the first big bank to give me big credit, EVER actually. Just went from $18k to $25k at NFCU BTW.

Reserve requires a minimum 10k line. If you don't think you can get that, apply for the preferred instead.
