This might be a silly question, but I tried looking around the forums, but couldn't quite find the answer so I figured I'd post.
I applied and was approved for a Delta Gold SkyMiles card last month (2/15) with $10k limit. Is this card issued directly by American Express (vs. a card with the Amex logo but underwritten by somebody else)? I want to try for the PRG or Platinum charge (I'll make sure to use it enough to justify either AF), and I read if you're a card member with Amex and are denied for a card it's only a SP. So I want to make sure I'm technically a member before I take the chance.
Thanks!
YES!
Go ahead and app! SP if denied, HP if approved ![]()
Thanks, @fltireguy!
I decided to go for it and was approved! I used Incognito and the points offer went up to 50,000, instead of the 25,000 showing before!

No way, did not know that was a thing. Thanks for letting me know about this!
Yes, all the cards on americanexpress.com are issued by them:
