So I've been denied for the amazon card twice and am debating if its worth applying for the secured card? Its not great but it has the opportunity to graduate at 7 months and I could get my deposit back. I'm wondering what people have had luck or experience with this card and where your credit was at when you got approved? I did burn amazon a bit with my filing and that's been a red flag on my applications so who knows when it will stop being a factor.
I know they had stopped issuing it for awhile, in fact I didn't even realize it was back. What I heard was that people were accusing them of being predatory with issuing a means of making Amazon purchases to people that may not have the appropriate funds to be able to pay it back. I never understood this because it was a secured product. I always thought it was actually a good thing for them to issue, as it was a means of helping people that otherwise could not be approved for their traditional financing, and obviously help them build their profiles up and for some, learn responsible spending habits along the way. I'm pretty sure @Brian_Earl_Spilner knows somewhat about this or may have experience with it. Brian, I'm sorry if I'm remembering wrong but I thought I remembered you posting about it.

@Ficoproblems247 I pulled the trigger and got denied. To be fair, that was impulsive, and I shouldn't have applied. My bankruptcy is just under 2 years old so if I had waited a few more months maybe I could have gotten applied. I have like 7 hard inquires on my report so my guess that and the ch7 did me in. It will be tough, but I really think I need to wait a year before applying again (even for the secured card). Half those inquiries would have fallen off, and I would be 3 years post then. Oh well...live and learn! Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Some cards are a lot more BK friendly than others, even in the secured world. Im
very sorry for your denial, but I'm happy that you have a really positive attitude! I hope gardening helps all of your goals fall in line for you! I have 2 months to go in my year in the garden. It's tough sometimes when you get the itch! I just think about my goal cards and how nice it will be to have a real shot at what I really want once I'm done. A year is nothing in the big picture! ![]()

It was me. I just made a thread about the new iteration which is extremely competitive to the regular one. Honestly, if it didn't cap at $500, there really wouldn't be a reason to get one unsecured.
