Check chase.com/prequalified and if they say good to go, snag it.

When it's time to snag CSR/CSP you'll have history showing for sure.

Yeah I’m prequalified for the CF, CFU, CSlate, and CSP right now. Going to try to improve my scores too to compensate my low student income. Thank you for your reply!

Hello all,

I’m trying to build a relationship with Chase because I have the CSR in my mind, but I don’t own a Chase card yet. My credit history is thin, (1.5x year BofA Cashrewards with a CL of $1600). 778 FICO, 734 VatangeScore, clean history. Would this be the best time to apply for a CF card? I don’t think the sign up bonuses with change anytime soon. The plan is to build credit with Chase and then in about 6-10 months double dip for the CSP & CSR for one HP. Right now I’m at 1/24. Would this be a correct approach? I’m a college student educating myself in credit cards and would appreciate all the info. Thank you all in advance!

You can only own one Sapphire product at a time.

The way around it is to double dip within minutes, and then after you get the CSP bonus, PC to an CFU.

If you want to 'build a relationship with Chase' you should NEVER double dip the CSP and CSR since it is Chase's policy not to issue both cards to the same person. If you follow the advice of one poster to do both applications almost at the same time, and then PC to another product, to evade Chase's policy, that would probably be a good way of destroying your relationship with Chase.

You might be able to get the Chase Freedom or Freedom Unlimited, so I guess that's a way of getting on Chase's radar. But if you don't really want the card, I don't see any reason to get it.
