I looked at the American Express Co-branded application and it said that their contract with them will expire on Dec 31 2015. Having said that, does anyone know who will most likely take over the credit card portion of JetBlue, does anyone know. I hope Synchrony takes over since I have a good relationship with them. Do you guys think Commenity Bank would not get involved in something like this? I know they have the Orbitz credit card. I know Capital one has Venture, Discover has Discover miles, so I am wondering which big bank will take over this. I am thinking that perhaps Amex will just renew with them. Any thoughts?

Last I heard, it was Barclays
JetBlue (JBLU) is also ending its partnership with AmEx in favor of a new credit card deal with Barclays (BCS) and MasterCard (MA).

It's definitely Barclaycard that's taking over.
What I don't know is
(a) what if anything will Amex be offering as an alternative to existing JetBlue card holders, or
(b) what will Barclaycard be offering the existing JetBlue card holders.
Would sure like to know what lies ahead.

I am not that excited about Barclays taking over. I simply don't like them, (they have turned me down before ) perhaps that's why. I just don't see Barclays fitting in with an Airline official credit card. Amex seems to be like the perfect company for that. I was just told that these companies actually place a bid to see who is going to represent the airline company. Looks like Barclays offered the best deal to them huh. So, what happens to your old Amex Card? the physical card that you have in your wallet? it gets deactivated?

They (Barclays) already service Frontier Airlines World Mastercard and Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastcard, so what's one more, lol? They didn't let me in for the USAirways card and essentially 2 free tickets. ![]()
I'm excited to see what they'll do for JetBlue as I got my card in Jan/2015. Although, I currently have a Rewards WMC with them now, since 8/14.
Obviously, they will offer a product change to cardholders that they want to retain despite the lack of ability to award true blue miles. My guess is they will promote the Blue Sky or the BCP - each with an annual fee. The impt thing with a product change is that you keep the start date of the account - and history, not impacting AAoA. I seriously believe they will bend over backwards to retain customers with this move - hoping to see them wave annual fees for a year for folks converting to other products.
